Green Day is an American punk
rock band consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, vocals), Mike Dirnt
(bass) and Tré Cool (drums). The band from Oakland, California was conceived
early in 1987 under the name Sweet Children, the current line acquired in 1989,
when they moved to the current name and joined drummer Tré Cool.
In 2010 opened a stage adaptation
of the Broadway album American Idiot, the musical was nominated for Tony
Awards, including Best Musical and Best Scenic Design, and has received
generally positive reviews. In mid-2011 the magazine Kerrang! named them as the
second most influential group emerged in the last thirty years, second only to

ratings from critics, earning seventy-nine points on Metacritic, based on
twenty-six reviews and media magazines such as Entertainment Weekly, E!, NME or
Rolling Stone. In addition, American Idiot has sold over twelve million copies
worldwide, six million of them sold in the U.S. only. In 2005 went on sale
Bullet in a Bible, live album compilation format, containing thirteen of his
most successful singles that had until that year. The eighth studio album the

has sold over sixty-five million albums worldwide, becoming one of the biggest
